In August, the summer school of the Research Training Group (GRK) 2408 took place in Magdeburg for the first time. Over four days, doctoral students from various disciplines were able to deepen their knowledge, acquire new skills and exchange ideas.

The PULSE project, funded by the European Innovation Council, aims to revolutionise bioprinting and advance its applications in space exploration and healthcare. To reach this goal, PULSE is developing a platform that combines magnetic and acoustic levitation to create ultra-fidelity 3D biological structures that simulate real tissues and organs.

The Chief Physician of the Department of Thoracic Surgery at the University Hospital for Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery Magdeburg Prof. Dr. med. Thorsten Walles has also taken over the position of Chief Physician of the Clinic for Thoracic Surgery at Lostau Pulmonary Hospital as of June 1, 2023.
