A new class of graduates in medicine and immunology completed their studies at the Medical Faculty of Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg in the summer of 2022 and was given a ceremonial send-off last week.

Another major project was realized at Magdeburg University Hospital. The University Department of Pneumology and the University Department of Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery (thoracic surgery unit) moved into the new ward block 60e and started operations on June 13.

Biologist Prof. Dr. Inna Lavrik has been elected as the new president of the European Cell Death Organization (ECDO). The organization brings together more than 200 internationally renowned scientists who conduct research in the field of cell death (apoptosis).
