Invitation to the 219th Urine Cytology Seminar in Magdeburg
The Department of Urology, Uro-oncology, Robotic and Focal Therapy at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg is organising the 219th Urine Cytology Seminar of the Urine Cytology and Urine-Bound Markers Working Group of the DGU - an advanced training event specially designed for colleagues from the medical field who are interested in cytology. The seminar will take place on 15 March 2025, from 8:30 to 16:00 on the premises of the University Medical Centre, Large Microscopy Room, House 28, Institute of Pathology, Leipziger Straße 44, 39120 Magdeburg.
Additional offer for MTAs and medical assistants
A separate course will also be offered on 8 March 2025, which is dedicated to the basics of urine cytology and the preparation of urine cytological preparations. This course is aimed specifically at MTAs and medical assistants.
An excellently equipped course room in the large microscopy room of the Institute of Pathology (House 28, Leipziger Straße 44, 39120 Magdeburg) offers optimal conditions for practical training. Numerous microscopes as well as standardised and new specimens contribute to the didactic quality of the seminar.

Significance of urine cytology
Urine cytology is an essential element in the guideline-compliant detection and treatment planning of urinary tract diseases. This examination technique is particularly valuable in the hands of treating urologists who combine cytological findings with clinical data.
