Palliative medicine
The Tumor Center Magdeburg/Saxony-Anhalt e.V is organizing a training course on “Palliative Medicine” on 23 October 2024. It starts at 4 pm in the Johanniskirche Magdeburg. Further information on the program can be found in the flyer.
Palliative care focuses on patients with malignant diseases, while non-oncological diseases tend to play a subordinate role. Very wrongly. On the one hand, due to the large number of patients who die from advanced internal, neurological or geriatric diseases. On the other hand, these patients also require palliative medical care due to their sometimes high symptom burden.
The aim of the event is to focus on the needs of patients with non-oncological diseases and to define specific indications for the inclusion of palliative care. Another focus will be the interface between general and specialized outpatient palliative care.
