Summer School for Orthopaedics and Trauma Surgery
From August 21 to 23, 2024, the Summer School of the German Society for Orthopaedics and Trauma Surgery (DGOU) and the Professional Association for Orthopaedics and Trauma Surgery (BVOU) took place on the UMMD campus.
Under the guidance of experts, 30 medical students, including five from Magdeburg, were given a comprehensive insight into orthopaedics and trauma surgery. The event offered practical workshops, discussions and valuable networking opportunities for the next generation in this specialist field.
Highlights included workshops on arthroscopy, endoprosthetics, shock room management and performance diagnostics, as well as a course where osteosynthesis could be practiced. The focus was also on topics such as conservative therapy, diagnostics and sports medicine. Discussion rounds on professional prospects and careers in orthopaedics and trauma surgery rounded off the program.
