Focus on digital health
Project management: Prof. Dr. Dr. Fabian Frielitz, Professor of Telemedicine, Digitalization and Economics in Medicine at Magdeburg University Hospital
The future of healthcare is digital. This means that medical professionals must also be empowered to use digital services efficiently and to increase their benefits. The project "compression of digital health videos in the transformation process" starts right here and has set itself the goal of advancing the digital transformation in medical studies. The "Digital Health" teaching concept is being developed in the digitalization working group. The aim is to prepare students for the requirements of a digital healthcare system and to implement the required learning objectives of the National Competence-Based Learning Objectives Catalog for Medicine (NKLM) 2.0.
The creation of accompanying teaching content specifically for "Digital Health" is essential in order to offer students practical insights. Short videos, interviews and application observations are planned, covering practice-relevant topics such as telemedicine, data protection, AI diagnostics and robotics in the operating theater. This content will be integrated into the course and supported by interactive tools such as Mentimeter and Slido. The aim is to link theory and practice and to promote visual learning and understanding.
For students, this means optimal preparation for the digital working world in the healthcare sector. The faculty benefits from a reduction in the burden on local teaching structures and can teach relevant content efficiently. Implementation will take place from October 2024, with continuous expansion and updating of teaching content on the VIPER platform.
