After Anesthesia - Recovery Room
After surgery under general anesthesia, you will be taken to the recovery room. There, your cardiovascular and respiratory functions are monitored just as closely as in the operating room. If pain occurs, it can be treated immediately by administering painkillers.
Most patients remain in the recovery room for about two hours. Before transferring the patient back to the ward, an anesthesiologist will check whether all the necessary requirements have been met.
You cannot have visitors in the recovery room. Exceptions are only made for our youngest patients, who need the emotional support and presence of a parent.
