Nephrology
In the nephrology department, all children and adolescents with congenital and acquired kidney diseases as well as with urinary transport disorders and bladder emptying disorders are treated. Patients with acute kidney failure are treated in cooperation with the neonatology/pediatric intensive care unit.
Sonography is an essential diagnostic tool in nephrological diagnostics and is performed independently (DEGUM-certified) in the pediatric clinic. There is close cooperation with pediatric surgery/pediatric urology, radiology/nuclear medicine and human genetics.
